Sneek Peek Parade Home 2012

Here are some pics of this year's Sunwest Development Parade Home.  It was fun to do something a little different than the Tuscan/Traditional style that we've been seeing for so many years.  I hope everyone will enjoy the freshness and yet feel comfortable in the home.  Unfortunately I wasn't quite done when the photographer came that day.  It was kinda last minute, so there are some quirky things.  Please come during the Parade and see it for real.  It's a nice feeling home.  Parade dates are Feb 17-26.  Hope to see you there!  :)

Jubilee of Trees 2009, 2010, 2011

2009 was my first year doing a Jubilee Tree. My theme was "Nostalgic Dixie". I used Lynne Clark's pioneer pictures of St. George throughout the tree, with red sand, raw cotton and pomegranates as embellishments.

2010 my theme was "Visions of Sugarplums". It was a dreamy little girl room. Bruce's donated the furniture.

2011 my theme was "Sleigh Ride at the North Pole". My friend Alyson found this great sleigh at TJ Maxx, just a week before Steve was going to have to build me one. He was so happy. :)

All my tree skirts were handcrafted by my talented friends Bobby & Larry Stocking from thetreeskirtstore.com

Polish makes Perfect

These before and after pictures aren't a huge change, but again it just shows that doing a little something makes a huge impact.

From Cold & Empty to Warm & Cozy

The basement in the Parade house posed a little problem. One being it was long and narrow. Then as functional and wonderful as it is, it has a tile floor, which only added to the long and narrowness before we decorated. To bring in the long feel I had the two end walls painted a shade darker to make the room feel a little cozier. This is just a little trick with out taking your focus away from the decor. Then we broke the room up into 3 different play stations, so to speak. There is the pool table area, TV for video games and then a board game table at the other end. It now feels like it has a purpose and you want to be there to play or just take in the view in a warm and cozy space.

Parade Home Before and After

The Parade Home I did for Sunwest Development was not your normal Parade Home situation. It was a spec house that was built over 2 years ago and hasn't sold. It's a great house. It just had a paint issue that didn't do the home justice. We changed the paint and the carpet and now it has a warm homey feel that is sure to appeal to many.
